• Little & Large for Wellman

Wellman Robey of Oldbury in the West Midlands have recently supplied industrial packaged boilers that represent both their large volume steam, and the smaller range of hot - water units.

Towards the top end of the range a twin furnace heavy oil - fired boiler has been supplied to Kingsnorth Power Station, situated on the Medway River in Kent.

The boiler raises 20,000 kg / hr of steam at 27.6 barg. Preheating of feed water is achieved by the Wellman Robey unit that serves the station's large water tube coal - fired boilers which in turn provides the steam for the electricity generating plant. The Site Services Division of Wellman Robey has also been awarded a separate contract for installing and commisioning of the boiler.

The total value for the Kingsnorth operation is over £300,000 for Wellman Robey.

At the lower end of the range, Weston College which is on the sea front at Weston Super Mare, have also had "Ygnette" 1500 kw / hr hot - water boilers installed by Wellman Robey. Originally the college was looking to upgrade its three Allen  - ygnis oil fired boilers installed over 40 years ago. The old boilers were still giving a totally reliable service, however it was found that a grant was available for new boilers if they could improve their energy efficiency, this being offset against fuel saving.

The boiler house is situated in a basement with extremely difficult access with only a few millimetres to spare. Wellman Robey's installation team organised the operation over a holiday break and the boilers were firmly located in place and ready for the new term.

Wellman Robey's fossil fuel boilers ( and waste heat boilers ) range from 1,000 kg / hr to 28,000 kg / hr steam and equivalent hot water from a single unit.
