Pit Furnaces

Wellman Furnace Engineering produces pit furnaces for heat treatment, soaking and re-heating purposes. Our pit furnaces can be gas-fired or electrically heated, the latter being used in conjunction with various atmospheric gases.

A typical pit carburising furnace can be seen opposite prior to shipment to site. Designed for use with an endothermic gas atmosphere, the furnace is heated with electric radiant tubes to a maximum operating temperature of 1050°C.
